Hungry for Salt and Vinegar, Hungry for Sushi... Hungry for Freedom :'( |
Attached is a lovely photo of my Valentine's picnic with the girls last month (my very first and hopefully not the last). The sun was blazing hot and the winds carried salty grains of sand to our food, but the experience was great nonetheless! Those were times of freedom and times of fun, as opposed to now - Energy-draining, spirit-tarnishing, and sleep-depriving. But if you don't feel the fatigue, you aren't working hard enough!!! At least that's what I think.
Anyway, moving on...
March is going to be a busy - and I mean real busy - month. My academic planner (really just my school handbook) for the month of March is simply brimming with activities, due dates, events and tests... I wonder when I can take a breather from all of these?
For those who are really curious, this is a breakdown of my schedule for the month of March:
03/03 - HL Math Test
05/03 - Chemistry Presentation + Meeting with University Counsellor + Extended Essay Meeting
06/03 - Australia & UK Medicine Seminar
07/03 - MOH Healthcare Scholarships Fair + NTU Open House
09/03 - British Council UK Universities Fair
12/03 - HL Chemistry Test
13/03 - English Written Task Due + Extended Essay Meeting
19/03 - Extended Essay Meeting
20/03 - SL Chinese Test
23/03 - Extended Essay First Draft Due
SO MUCH TO DO!! SO MUCH TO PREPARE FOR!!
Thinking about my workload reminded me of Macbeth's soliloquy in Act I Scene VII where he contemplated murdering Duncan: "If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well it were done quickly." which is why I chose it as my post title.
I don't actually mean it in the sinister way though..... or do I?
P.s. I know how I really shouldn't be revealing my whereabouts online to complete strangers but it's not like I'm famous or anything, right? Stalkers, anyone???
It makes me quite sad to contemplate my increasingly packed schedule and how I am almost 'avoiding' my friends because of this. I find myself sitting at a corner rushing to complete my work during breaks instead of joining the rest at our usual hangout, and it is rather disappointing how I cannot simply maintain a balance between studies and my social circle.

But it's not as bad as it might seem. This has only been going on for about a week, and I am still in close contact with my friends, though there are some of which I haven't seen or talked to in a while. Considering how much they mean to me, I really need to do something about this strenuous academic stress so that I am able to remain motivated but still adequately sociable at the same time!
Now here's a pun that is two days late: Today is 2 March. Not that it is extremely hilarious, but seeing how this month is going to be so busy for me, I actually feel the pun as if it were meant for me. The 2nd of March was E-learning day and while it went pretty well, it wasn't so much if you go into the details: my internet broke down on that very day (on home learning day!!!!! Out of all days!!!!) and I was haunted by cockroaches in my room (or maybe just lizards - can someone please tell me what insect or pest makes clicking noises while hidden in unknown corners?) ... In the very case that I start raging in my tutor room, where I am currently typing away on my laptop with screen brightness turned all the way down (secretive much) I shall just stop right here.
Anyhow, I don't really mean for this post to be meaningful in any way. Maybe I just needed a place to vent my frustrations at - which is exactly what a blog is for! :)
My next two posts, if I ever find the time this month to blog, will be on two buffet restaurants I'd visited recently - Sun's Cafe in Grand Pacific Hotel & CafeBiz in Hotel Jen - so stay tuned!
xoxo
Valerie
