Finger-lickin' good! (Now that KFC doesn't use it anymore) |
Two weeks ago I visited 4 Fingers for the first time on the recommendation of my cousin. Though I am a big fan of fried chicken, it must be said that I do not quite fancy those with sticky sauce slathered on top, such as the ones served there. They were nevertheless delicious and I enjoyed especially the soy garlic flavour, and although I can take spiciness rather well, I didn't like the spicy flavour one as much as it tasted rather overbearing.
The fries came in different flavors - kimchi and seaweed, and I enjoyed the former particular. None were heavily flavoured which I felt was quite a pity because the taste only depending on the seasoning which flaked off into the paper packet every now and then.
The drumsticks were quite good, though the meat was rather dry. But one thing I really have to comment is that there is entirely NO SMELL at the bone area. My family would know exactly what I'm referring to.
Usually when we feast at Popeye's/Texas, we only order spicy chicken because it is so much better than original. Sometimes they mix it up and give us original, we suck it up and just eat that, but oh gosh when you get to the bone you start to smell this really horrible odour, something you get when the chicken is its freshest. While I know the spicy version probably is of the same freshness, but with the smell masked by the spice, I simply cannot stand having original chicken at all. I don't mind having less-than-fresh chicken, because it is after fast food, but if the smell is going to get to me, I am going to have to refuse it.
So yeah! 4 Fingers does not have the smelly chicken problem, so I am one happy girl.
I apologise for the blurry picture.
This mushroom salad is one delicious baby. It is by far one of the best salads I've ever had! The portion is enough for one person, so this is definitely where I would dine if I wanted to feel healthy.
My experience at 4 Fingers was certainly great, but not all that amazing because I've had better (Take Chir Chir) It is good, really, but honestly I expected better from seeing those long queues trailing out of the restaurant. I think I'd return for the salad though. I love the salad!
xoxo
